Baby Creations
March 5, 2010This is the first time I’ve actually had enough ambition to make something for one of my babies. I can be crafty, but I do NOT sew (I don’t even own a sewing machine). So I enlisted the help of my mom. I told her I wanted a nursing cover and a car seat canopy. So I picked out and bought all the material and she went to work.
I LOVE how these turned out and can’t wait to use them. Thank you mom!
I did, however, make a little something all on my own to put above the baby’s crib. I didn’t take the time to get the photos just right, but you can get the general idea of the mobile I made:
It was a little tedious, but I love how it turned out!
A Little Photography Information
March 4, 2010Hi! I just wanted to update everyone on what’s going on with booking photo sessions these days. As of right now, I’m not booking any more photo sessions until after this baby is born! On Sunday of this week I spent several hours in the hospital, trying to get some contractions under control. Since then, I’ve been doing pretty well, but I’m trying to take it really easy.
But…if you’re interested in booking anything for spring or summer, please call/email to do it now!
I am still, however, teaching over at BPS! This week we started our third week of “Moving Into Manual”! For those of you that perhaps missed out on this class or the previous two, those will be running again in just another couple of months. You can register for “Get Great Photos with Any Camera” and “Get out of Auto Mode” starting on March 18th.
Also, I’ve got two more fun photo “projects” that I’ve been working on with a couple of different companies. (Think more photo tutorials for YOU!) I’m so incredibily excited and can’t wait to be able to share with you!
And the last thing on my to-do list (regarding photography) is I’ve got a great idea for a photography Etsy shop in the works. It’s a ways away (especially since I’ll be trying to have any sense of control over my life after this baby is born), but I’ll keep you posted!
And just so there’s some sort of actual photography involved in this post, here is a recent picture of Ryan, showing off his new CTR (“Choose The Right”) ring that he got from church. He was SO proud of it!
I just adore that cute little face!
Pictures Today?
March 3, 2010Yesterday morning I woke up and thought to myself, “today is going to be a great day for taking pictures!” So while Ryan was at preschool Kyler and I went outside to see what we could find.
Blah. Nothing. Everything is still brown and dead.
So while I sat on the front porch I looked over and saw the tiniest little hint of spring and it made me so happy!
And then I looked over and saw the thrill on Kyler’s face to be able to be outside, riding his bike:
And then we look over across the street to see Ryan coming home from preschool:
And then the following scene ensues:
“RYAN!!!!”
“KYLER!!!!”
And the best part is that this is NOT a rare scene. Ever since Kyler could walk the boys have greeted eachother like this, with no prodding from us. It seriously makes my heart soar every time to know that they love eachother so much!
Turned out to be a good picture-taking day after all.
I Heart Faces “Hilarious Outtakes” Challenge
March 1, 2010This week at I Heart Faces, the theme is “Hilarious Outtakes”, so here are my two. I love how family photos just kind of fall to pieces sometimes. I always tell parents to cherish these photos because they’re the most “real”, unposed photos you can get. A way to remember what your children are really like!
